Description
The International Labour Organization (ILO) is looking for a consultant to prepare the sixth brief in the thematic brief series, focusing on safe and healthy work for an ageing workforce. The brief will examine occupational safety and health (OSH) as a standalone policy domain and as an enabling condition for older workers’ labour market participation. The work will include a desk review of relevant ILO and non-ILO literature; analysis of OSH policy and regulatory frameworks, occupational health services, labour inspection, return-to-work systems and workplace practices; and identification of key barriers affecting older workers, including cumulative occupational exposures, inadequate ergonomic design, psychosocial risks and gaps in preventive services. The brief will review evidence on effective OSH interventions and institutional arrangements, including age-sensitive risk assessment, ergonomic adaptation, working time flexibility, preventive occupational health services, vocational rehabilitation and return-to-work programmes. It will provide practical, evidence-based recommendations for governments, employers’ organisations, workers’ organisations, labour inspectorates, occupational health practitioners. If you are interested, please express interest and follow the instructions attached to consult the detailed terms of reference and other relevant information in the ILO e-sourcing platform. Please submit your proposal before the specified deadline. Thank you.
