The extent of the required demolition work is shown on drawings MD-1, MD-2, and MD-3. The contractor must employ an Illinois Department of Public Health (DPH)-licensed asbestos inspector to survey (NESHAP Inspection) the work areas for the presence of asbestos-containing materials before any demolition work. If the IDPH Asbestos Inspector documents the presence of ACM, this project will meet the definition of an abatement project. The project's emphasis will be to ensure that the space served meets the VA HVAC Design Manual for the existing space and type. This includes dry-bulb temperature, wet-bulb temperature (humidity), pressure differential, filtration, and new open-protocol BACnet controls. All work shall be completed within 308 calendar days of Notice to Proceed (NTP).\n \nIn accordance with Public Law 109-461, the Veterans Benefits, Healthcare and Information Technology Act of 2006, pursuant to 38 USC 8127(d), competition is restricted to SDVOSB construction firms.
