Nationwide condition data on edge zones and morphological changes in waterways.

Description

The Norwegian Environment Agency orders the production of digital theme maps with condition data for edge zones between ecosystems and morphological changes in and along river systems. The project includes method development and the use of adapted theme maps on edge vegetation along riverways, significant physical interventions in the river system belt, as well as mapping the morphological condition and the reference condition of historical rivers. The theme maps shall be used in national nature accounts and to strengthen the knowledge basis on river system restoration and ought, thus, include considerable areas of Norwegian nature. We would like the project to be solved by a multi-disciplinary compound group, with key personnel who have experience from ecological effects of different influences, use of machine learning models to collate data from different sources to relevant data at the national level from maps and flight pictures, to new theme maps and facilitate this for the use of the administration.
