RFx ID: 31816877 Organisation: Wellington City Council Open date: Monday, 9 June 2025 2:30 PM +12:00 Close date: Thursday, 3 July 2025 5:00 PM +12:00 Categories: 72000000 - Building and Facility Construction and Maintenance Services Region: Wellington Overview: Wellington City Council (WCC) is seeking a suitably qualified contractor to undertake sand replenishment work of Oriental Bay Beach (comprising Freyberg, Main and East Beaches) at Oriental Bay, Wellington. The scope of work includes: 1. Supply of sand complying with the project specification to Oriental Bay. The imported sand needs to be of a certain grade to ensure that it is fit for purpose and of a size that does not get windblown or moved too much from wave action. Details on the type of sand, the volume, placement location and profile are provided in the Drawings and Specification (refer to Appendix 3). 2. Excavating, placing, transporting and reprofiling sand across East Beach, Main Beach, and Freyberg Beach (to the profiles and locations shown on the Drawings). Where there is a build up of existing sand, excavation works will be undertaken (near Fitzgerald Point Groyne and the Freyberg Pier headland). This excavated sand will be supplemented with imported sand to build the beach to the extent indicated. Works will additionally include profiling the wider beach to the original design profile. Site Visits The Principal will hold site visits for Respondents on 18 June 2025, Wednesday. Respondents must be registered through the GETS question/answer function with the following information: • Supplier name • Names(s) of those attending • Contact phone number • Email address All Respondents shall be deemed to have inspected the Site before submitting their Tender. Timeline Contract start date: Preference for September 2025 Construction Works: Late September – Early October 2025
