RFx ID: 32061144 Organisation: Far North District Council Open date: Monday, 14 July 2025 11:00 AM +12:00 Close date: Friday, 15 August 2025 5:00 PM +12:00 Categories: 30120000 - Roads and landscape 72141000 - Highway and road construction services 72141100 - Infrastructure building and surfacing and paving services 95110000 - Thoroughfares Region: Northland Overview: The Far North District Road network is an expansive and variable network, providing critical connectivity for all our communities, residents and visitors. The challenge, and opportunity, for this Contract is developing and maintaining a service delivery environment that supports collaboration, maintenance optimisation and continual adaptation. This procurement seeks a long-term partnership with a road maintenance provider that will work alongside Council’s roading team to invest wisely in preserving and maintaining our road assets for future generations. We are seeking to appoint a motivated contractor to deliver these services under a mostly Measure and Value Contract to the highest affordable quality, whilst having the necessary care and consideration for the community they are delivering to. We are looking for suppliers that will work closely with council and share responsibilities to inspect, manage and programme the necessary maintenance activities that will build and enable an enduring road network. Council wants to partner in an open, transparent, flexible and collaborative way. We are keen to support local businesses that have the capacity and capability to help the Council maintain its road assets and infrastructure. Council is focusing on proactive approaches to network management, e.g. addressing faults early and introducing efficiencies enabling contractors to respond to faults easily. We want to provide flexibility to the Programme focus and funding to adapt to our changing network needs. With a minimum term of five years and two possible extensions of 3 years and 2 years, this contract brings security of a stable workload for a supplier that understands the value of quality routine maintenance and best practice asset management. Interested? What’s next? We intend to go to market in early September 2025. The opportunity will be advertised on the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS).
