The requirement-type contracts will be for one year beginning October 1, 2026, plus one 2-month option period and one 1-month option period. Prior to award, air carriers must be approved by the Department of Defense (DOD), as well as have appropriate Federal Aviation Administration certification. Carriers who are otherwise eligible must also participate in the Civil Reserve Air Fleet (CRAF) program or receive a Letter of CRAF Technical Ineligibility from the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM).
