Greater Wellington Regional Council (GWRC) is seeking insights into supplier capabilities, technical solutions, and innovative approaches for the safe, sustainable, and economically viable management of high-voltage electric bus batteries nearing end-of-life. The purpose of this RFI is to enhance our understanding of available technologies, international trends, and industry best practices for battery disposal, recycling, and second-life applications. We are particularly interested in practical solutions that align with environmental standards and regulatory requirements, as well as business models that clarify ownership, risk-sharing, and partnership opportunities.
