The proposed work involves demolishing the existing wall at the rear of the reception area and medical room, which faces the playground. The project comprises of the removal and replacement of existing aluminium windows, doors and joinery along with re-cladding both interior and exterior walls. The electronic door closer system will be retained. Existing carpet, entry matting and vinyl flooring will be removed and replaced. In the reception area the existing desk will be modified to improve accessibility, a compliance requirement stipulated by Hutt City Council. The contract will also include the removal and replacement of roofing, fixings, flashings and spouting. Existing translucent roofing on the external rear entry canopy will be removed and disposed of, then replaced with a new verandah roof and structure. New outdoor lighting will also be installed. In order to meet Building Code requirements around minimum ground clearances there will be a need to reconstruct concrete paving immediately adjacent to the building and new cladding.
