The P- \n8A Engine Core and Cradle Set are considered to be commercial items. The intended \nsource is The CFM International Inc. The Government is pursuing a non-competitive \naction under the authority of FAR 15.002(a), and 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii)(B), Sole Source \nAcquisitions. \n\n \nAs part of its market research, the General Services Administration (GSA), on behalf of \nits customer, is issuing this Sources Sought and Notice of Intent to determine if \nthere exists an adequate number of interested and qualified contractors capable of \nperforming the requirement as described. The Government may use the responses to this \nSources Sought for information and planning purposes. The technical specifications \ndescribe only the currently contemplated possible specifications and may vary from the \nactual specifications identified in final Product Descriptions included in any Request for \nQuote (RFQ). \n\n \nThis Sources Sought is only for the purpose of identifying potential sources as part of \nGSA’s market research. No RFQ currently exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the \nRFQ. Please note, GSA is not required to use the open market for any resulting RFQ. \nThis Sources Sought is issued for information and planning purposes only and does not \nitself constitute an RFQ. Responses to this Sources Sought will not be considered as \nformal quotes and GSA does not intend to award an open market delivery order(s) or \nBlanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) based on responses to this Sources Sought. \n\n \n\n 2.0 Objectives of the Sources Sought \n\n • Understand the level of interest and availability of potential vendors that could provide the requested turnkey solution. \n• Identify issues, roadblocks, and barriers to successful solution implementations. \n• Obtain vendor feedback on if the vendor will utilize any subcontractors or teaming arrangements. \n• Identify if a total solution can be provided via open market contractors. \n• Provision of other benefits of leveraging a turnkey solution. \n• Comments regarding any ambiguities or needed clarifications of the draft technical specifications. \n• Obtain vendor feedback on any other pre-existing contracts that might meet this need. \n\n 3.0 Sources \n\n The Sources Sought and Notice of Intent will be posted to SAM.gov. \n\n 4.0 Draft Technical Specifications \n\n \n\t P-8A Includes: CFM56-7B27AE Engine with Sermetel-Coated HPC Case, Cover, \n \n\n Stand and Cradle Set \n\n 5.0 Notes to Responders \n\n All information received in response to this Sources Sought marked “Proprietary” will be \nprotected and handled accordingly.
