The 23 bridges are separated into four different contracts. • Package 1 – Short Span A: 8 bridge renewals, of which 1 is provisional • Package 2 – Short Span B: 5 bridge renewals, of which 1 is provisional, Plus an additional 4 provisional bridge removals • Package 3 – Long Span A: 5 bridge renewals • Package 4 – Long Span B: 3 bridge renewals In addition, SDC is seeking contractors for the deck replacement, minor bearing improvements and coating works to the Lake Monowai suspension bridge. These works are tentatively planned to occur during the period of November 2026 to March 2027.
