The information gathered through the RFI process will give the Government a better understanding of: • potential energy projects that its purchasing power could support, to increase investment in the New Zealand energy market, • what support these projects need from Government, to make such partnerships viable and/or what the critical barriers are to these projects that Government procurement might help address. This is another step in the Government’s mission to ensure affordable and secure energy to support economic growth. The RFI will be used to inform the Government’s possible next steps for improving energy investment in New Zealand.
