The Contract Works involves installation of traffic management and temporary access (scaffolding or similar methods), concrete repairs and deck strengthening with FRP strips. The bridge structure was constructed in 1964 comprising a four-span steel and concrete composite superstructure. The four longitudinal steel beams are at 2.1m centres and are at a skew to the piers and abutments. The deck comprises a 152mm thick reinforced concrete slab with deck thickening local to the tops of longitudinal steel beams. The works include an 80 Working Day contract period and a base estimate of $1.0M. Only tenderers pre-qualified to “Bridge Construction – Level C (3C)” under the terms of the Highways and Network Operations (HNO) Prequalification System will be eligible to submit a tender.
