The additional facilities will address capacity shortfalls for the current and forecast demand over the next decade. It will also allow some services, that are currently outsourced, to be brought in-house. The project has been fully designed and documented using a local architect and consulting engineers. Following the Detailed Design phase, the building consent application was lodged and subsequently issued by the Christchurch City Council. The main contractor procurement process is underway and is expected to be complete on or about October 2nd, 2025. On-site work will begin immediately following the main contractor appointment. This project is the first in the Region to use the new Health NZ version of NZS3910:2023. The successful respondent will be issued with a signed copy of the contract during their engagement for this project.
