Our understanding is that this refers to the ASME certification for heating boiler manufacturers, which is typically not a requirement for service companies. Can you confirm if this interpretation is correct?\nA1. This interpretation is correct. It is a requirement for working on the boiler if welding needs to be done.\nQ2. Could you provide details on the relief valves to be replaced? Specifically:\nHow many relief valves are required?\nA2. Eight (8) total (2 valves are required each boiler per VHA Boiler Safety Device Testing Manual). The valves will be tested and certified if they pass. If they do not pass, they will need to be replaced.\nQ3. What are the set pressures for each valve?\nA3. 135 pounds per square inch (PSI) and 140 PSI\nQ4. What are their capacities?\nA4. At 135 PSI the capacity is 19,834 pounds (lbs.)/hr.) at approximately 85 percent of total boiler requirement.
