Description

The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) requires accurate and up-to-date scientific evidence to inform public health decision-making and actions that promote health; prevent and control infectious diseases, chronic diseases and injuries for people living in Canada; and prepare for and respond to public health emergencies. As noted in PHAC’s Science Strategy, people in Canada expect their public health agency to provide relevant, trustworthy, and timely public health advice based on the best possible evidence, which requires a strong culture of science excellence that is inclusive, open, and collaborative.
