Bill Young Veterans Hospital, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd; Bay Pines, Florida 33744 has a requirement for BD Pyxis Refrigerators, converting non-PROFILE to PROFILE Pyxis Medstations, and Medication Label Module Printers.\n\nBACKGROUND: Bay Pines VA Healthcare System (BPVAHCS) utilizes the Pyxis - Automated Dispensing Equipment (ADC) to maintain and dispense all medications for the C.W. (Bill) Young (CWY) Medical Center and Lee County VA Healthcare Clinic. BPVAHCS is seeking to purchase BD Pyxis ES Refrigerators to replace current end of life medical graded refrigerators. In addition, BPVAHCS is seeking to convert non-PROFILE to PROFILE medstations for current Pyxis medstations. Bay Pines requires Pyxis equipment for support under the same practices and policies as the current Pyxis equipment. Medication Label Module (MLM) printers will be directly connected to the Pyxis medstations and provide patient specific labeling for injectables, such as insulin.\n\nSCOPE: In order to provide the same level of care, workflow practices, and policies pertaining to the current system used by the CWY Medical Center and LCHCC locations, the purchase of the automated dispensing system must integrate fully with the current Pyxis equipment.\n\n\n The contractor shall provide all hardware, tools, or supplies necessary for the configuration, installation, and training for this procurement.\n\nPertaining to ADC, the equipment under the purchase agreement the contractor will follow the mandatory guidelines in the VHA Directive 1108.1, SOP 516-119-002, and Institution for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP) Guidelines for the Safe Use of Automated Dispensing Cabinets .
