This project forms part of the broader Rolleston Access Improvements (RAI) initiative and is strategically aligned with the upcoming construction of the SH1 and Dunns Crossing Road new roundabout to the north of this intersection. Our goal is to make the intersection safer for surrounding residents, school children, commuters and better cater for future growth in the area. The objective is to carryout construction within the timeframe highlighted, minimise impact on Rolleston residents, and coordinate with the nearby construction of the new SH1 roundabout to the north. The existing intersection has a significant number of services located under the sealed carriageway and grass verge. The proposed works include the construction of new traffic signals, road pavement, footpath, signs and line marking, and streetlights to accommodate the work.
