2026 Fall Vessel Charter - Oceanographic and Ecosystemic Surveys and Scientific Research Activities throughout the Canadian Atlantic Waters

This requirement is modified in accordance with Addendum 001. Summary DFO’s Ecosystem and Oceans Science Sector requires a contractor to provide a global-class, deep-sea research vessel—with crew and scientific personnel—for Fall 2026. The vessel will support oceanographic surveys and scientific research across Canadian Atlantic waters, including work under the Atlantic Zone Monitoring Program (AZMP). This need arises from a gap in Canadian research vessel capacity following the retirement of the CCGS Hudson, and will remain until a new vessel becomes operational. Period of the Contract: The period of the Contract is from date of Contract to March 31, 2027 inclusive. Option to Extend the Contract: The Contractor grants to Canada the irrevocable option to extend the term of the Contract by up to one (1) additional one (1) year period under the same conditions.
