Description
The Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) has a requirement for services to identify and evaluate the fundamental ecohydraulics approaches that govern the performance of IHSs for successful critical habitat and ecological river restoration. To move beyond the current trial-and-error use of IHSs, the overall goal of this joint project is to identify and evaluate the fundamental ecohydraulics approaches that govern the performance of IHSs for successful critical habitat and ecological river restoration, which will be attained through the following tasks: Experimental Flume Study, Fish Experiments, Fish and Numerical and/or Field Study. The findings from all three (3) tasks will consequently provide clarity on some of the means, tools, and mitigation and restoration measures and effectiveness to help planning and management to protect species, ecosystems and restore fish habitat in riverine systems.
