Description
The project involves removing loose, unbounded, or damaged concrete and mortar around the windows, reinforcing areas, weatherproofing cracks in the bonded concrete or mortar, and making general repairs to other external elements, as described in the Tender documents attached. Certain sections of the school are currently restricted due to safety concerns caused by loose concrete segments. The quality of work on this project is important due to the associated costs and the disruptive impact of the repair efforts. To avoid additional costs from redoing failed repairs, it is necessary to ensure they are completed to a high standard. The main objective of this project is to effectively repair the damaged concrete areas to maintain safety within the school, and to ensure that the repaired areas are effectively weathered. As this project predominantly involves concrete repair and given the safety concerns and disruptive nature of failed repairs, tenderers are required to demonstrate substantial experience in this field. Acceptable projects listed in Appendix B1 will be projects where the majority of works consisted of concrete repair, preferably within schools or comparable facilities. In addition, tenderers / subcontractors must be approved applicators of an authorised concrete repair material.
