In recent months we have had pressure from Waikato Regional Council (WRC) to fully comply with the water take consents for Te Aroha raw water supplies. The consent requires Matamata-Piako District Council (MPDC) to turn off all stream supplies when the Waihou River flow is below 24.85cumecs. This leaves the river intake as the only intake available to supply raw water to the Te Aroha Water Treatment Plant. The tender closes at 4.00pm Thursday 4 November 2025
