Works include the reconfiguration and upgrade of toilet facilities, creating single cubicles, fully self contained with exterior access. An internally accessed accessible toilet will also be introduced. Classroom modernisation consists of replacing joinery, interior finishes and plumbing fittings in the science room. To enable an increase in size to the adjoining multi-use teaching space it is planned that the science store and preparation room will be relocated and some of the adjacent corridor utilised. Separate pricing is sought to create a staff workroom that would adjoin the new science preparation room. This though will only proceed and form part of the contract if deemed affordable. The project will require a full time site foreman as part of the main contractor administration. The contractor will need to consider and submit a structured methodology statement along with providing a strong Health and Safety Plan supporting the proposed works and mitigating the risks. Block D is central within the college for which a comprehensive vehicle management plan is to be considered.
