The existing main will be decommissioned in place and made redundant. The replacement will consist of a new DN180 SDR 11 PN16 PE100 HDPE pipeline. the length is approx. 2.61km between Manaia Road and Kokiri Road. Installation of the new water main will be carried out using open trenching and/or underboring methods, as appropriate to site conditions. In addition, the Contractor shall supply all required fittings for both same-side and opposite-side lateral service connections to existing property connections, as detailed in the drawings and listed in the Schedule of Quantities. To minimise surface disruption and reduce environmental impact, service pipe connections shall be installed using trenchless techniques such as Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD), Microtunneling, Auger Boring, or other approved alternatives.
