This initiative supports improved traffic congestion to Taranaki Maunga while protecting the fragile alpine environment of Te Papakura o Taranaki. NPDC seeks a suitably qualified civil contractor to construct a 6000m² public carpark and associated pavement works at 2138 Egmont Road, outside the national park boundary. This project is scheduled to run between November 2025 and March 2026, aligning with the construction of the North Egmont Visitor Centre (led separately by the Maunga Trust). We are calling on interested civil construction contractors with relevant expertise to prepare for this upcoming opportunity to register on Tenderlink.
