For the RECLAIM project, a respirometric measuring system is required to quantitatively assess microbial activity and organic matter degradation in soils and sediments affected by invasive alien species and restoration actions. The system enables reliable measurement of Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), soil respiration, biogas production, and biodegradation rates, providing direct indicators of ecosystem functioning, soil health, and restoration effectiveness. These data are essential for comparing impacted and restored sites and for evaluating the success and sustainability of RECLAIM’s management interventions.
