Description
ACC is seeking medical practitioners to provide independent permanent impairment assessments for our clients. Clients who sustain permanent impairment resulting from a covered injury are entitled to an independent impairment assessment. This assessment determines whole person impairment, and entitlement for either a lump sum compensation, or an independence allowance. ACC must appoint and pay an appropriate impairment assessor in accordance with the Accident Compensation Act 2001. Applicants must have a current Annual Practicing Certificate with the Medical Council of New Zealand, and substantial post graduate experience in clinical practice. Vocational registration in Occupational Medicine, General Practice, or Psychiatry is preferred but other experienced medical practitioners may also apply. Training in the use of the American Medical Association Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, 4th Edition (AMA4), and the ACC User Handbook to AMA4 will be provided to successful applicants.
