The shiplift system is comprised of a drydocking platform that utilizes wire ropes driven by hydraulic winches to lift ships from the water for maintenance purposes. The transfer platform uses a recessed pit to move ships laterally across the shipyard and is driven by a tow vehicle. The contractor shall procure, and in some cases install, the parts/materials listed in the attached appendices. The contractor is also responsible for performing a system-wide condition inspection and perform general repairs to the shiplift facility as identified and approved by the Government.
