RFx ID: 32161855 Organisation: Bay of Plenty Regional Council Open date: Wednesday, 30 July 2025 10:00 AM +12:00 Close date: Wednesday, 13 August 2025 5:00 PM +12:00 Categories: 77000000 - Environmental Services 86130000 - Specialized educational services 93140000 - Community and social services Region: Bay of Plenty Overview: Coast Care Bay of Plenty is seeking expressions of interest for a unique contracting role — leading coastal restoration work from Otamarakau to Ōpōtiki East. This is the first time this opportunity has become available since 2019. We’re looking for a motivated individual or business to become the community face of Coast Care in the Eastern Bay — coordinating a volunteer-based planting and dune maintenance programme that helps protect our iconic beaches. What’s involved? • Coordinating planting and maintenance across our Eastern Bay of Plenty sites • Planning and delivering community planting events (May to September is our peak season) • Inspiring and managing a wide range of volunteers aged 10–80 • Working closely with schools, community groups, iwi, councils and other partners • Delivering hands-on restoration and education that strengthens coastal ecosystems • Some weekend work during planting season is expected This role offers flexibility, purpose, and the chance to lead real environmental change in one of the Bay’s most stunning regions. Though knowledge of Coastal Restoration methods will be advantageous it is not a pre-requisite for the role. Sound like you? We want to hear how your community spirit, practical skills, and innovative thinking can help grow the Coast Care programme.
