The National Cancer Institute (NCI) intends to award a single source purchase order to ThermoFisher Scientific, 5350 N.E. Dawson Creek Drive, Hillsboro, OR 97124, for the acquisition of preventive service maintenance for the government owned Titan Krios high resolution electron microscope (S/N D3211), and Vitrobot (S/N 190700784). \nThe National Cancer Institute (NCI) needs to obtain the annual preventative service maintenance agreement for a clinical instrument (Titan Krios high resolution microscope and Vitrobot). The instrument’s service shall consist of thorough cleaning, calibration, adjusting, inspection, and testing of all equipment in accordance with the manufacturer’s latest established service procedures. All equipment shall be operationally tested through at least one (1) complete operating cycle at the end of the preventive maintenance inspection to ensure optimum and efficient performance. Software Service and updates are required as part of the contract and should include original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts, proprietary software updates and include a guaranteed on-site response. Technicians must be technically certified to work on ThermoFisher equipment. \nThe anticipated period of performance will be: \nBase Year: 03/01/2026 – 02/28/2027 \n\n The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 811210 – Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance and a size standard of $34M. \nNCI will solicit and negotiate directly with ThermoFisher Scientific, and no solicitation will be issued. This procurement is being conducted as a sole source acquisition due to the proprietary nature of the ThermoFisher Titan Krios and Vitrobot and associated proprietary software updates. The service requirements necessitate manufacturer certification, factory-trained technicians certified specifically by ThermoFisher, and access to proprietary software updates that are exclusively updated by ThermoFisher. Only the original equipment manufacturer and their certified partners possess the technical expertise, proprietary tools, and authorized access to push software updates required to maintain this specialized equipment. \nNCI will negotiate directly with ThermoFisher Scientific, and no solicitation will be issued. Award is subject to approval of the Sole Source Justification. \nThis notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
