Dear Bidder, The International Labour Office (ILO) is looking for an individual to undertake work as an External Collaborator. Below is a summary of the work to be performed: The International Labour Organization (ILO) seeks a consultant to prepare a report titled “Understanding Gender Pay Gaps in India: Evidence, Drivers and Policy Options.” The report will provide updated evidence on the magnitude, characteristics and drivers of gender pay gaps in India. The consultant will analyse nationally representative household and, where available, enterprise-level datasets, supplemented by qualitative evidence. The work will include analysis of labour market and wage trends, estimation of gender pay gaps at national and sub-national levels, and decomposition analysis to identify factors underlying explained and unexplained gender pay differentials. The assignment will also review policies and interventions relevant to gender pay gaps, analyse stakeholder perspectives, and assess the role of enterprise characteristics in shaping pay disparities. The report will identify key findings, data limitations, evidence gaps and policy recommendations, drawing on international experience and good practices. The assignment will be undertaken over four months (15 July–14 November 2026) with an estimated level of effort of 32 working days.
