The current platform is old and is in need of replacement. These products and equipment are utilized to ensure and maintain high-quality testing and disease discovery for medical patients. There is only one company with the capability of performing these designated tests under one platform. The applicable NAICS code for this acquisition is 334516 with a business size standard of 1,000 employees and PSC 6640.\nThe proposed contract is to replace the current outdated Point of Care Test Analyzers (Cost-Per-Test), consumables. A newer version of the Abbott i-STAT analyzers (Cost-Per-Test) consumables and platform, which the Government intends to solicit, with only one source under the Authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). This is a notice of intent to award a single-source procurement action and is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation package is available. Firms that want to challenge the single source must show clear and convincing evidence of their capability to provide the services/supplies, and that competition would be advantageous to the Government.
