Tender summary

The United Nations (UN) is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from qualified companies interested in an upcoming solicitation for the establishment of a contract for the provision of graphic design services. This solicitation requires the support of a design firm to produce advocacy materials, technical and result reports, and flagship publications. The qualified design firm will also adapt materials into additional languages, as required, the materials into languages (UN official languages, Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish). The adaptation will be based on the existing files provided by DCO. The design firm will be provided with the UNSDG/DCO branding guidelines and will have access to all branding assets. Specific Requirements/Information 1. Main activities will include: a. Publishing and Layout: DCO produces a wide range of print and digital publications such as publication reports, brochures, booklets, guidelines, technical reports and fact sheets. These products include graphic design elements such as statistical graphics, infographics, iconographies, maps and photography. •The design firm may also support the production of social media campaigns, newsletters, web graphics, digital storytelling products, campaign toolkits, and editable Trello and Canva assets. - Planning the content, structure and timelines agreed upon with the parties involved; - Develop a design proposal and present it to the relevant parties; - Execute design, layout and composition following DCO or UNSDG brand guidelines; - Research photographs using UN photo banks; - Develop translated versions of publications as needed; - Provide source files (.ai, ind., etc.) and final products; - Be able to provide expertise and supervision in the production of printed materials and liaise with printers as required. - Ensure design outputs follow accessibility best practices, including accessible PDFs, WCAG-compliant digital products, appropriate colour contrast, accessible infographics and presentations accessible to persons with disabilities. b. Presentation Design: In order to present to diverse audiences, our actions and impacts in user-friendly presentation formats. These presentations must have a visually striking and dynamic narrative of content. - Conceptualize the layout project; - Execute a layout in a manner that is easy to understand for the parties involved; - Delivering illustrations in accessible formats such as .jpg, .png, .ai, .ind, pdf, word etc. c. Graphic Design: DCO requires many graphic design needs, such as iconography, infographics, etc. - Conceptualize the layout project; - Execute the layout in a manner that is easy to understand for the parties involved; - Deliver artwork in accessible formats such as .jpg, .png, .ai, .ind, pdf, word, etc. - Develop presentations that are accessible to persons with disabilities and aligned with accessibility best practices. d. Data Visualization: DCO provides data and analytical tools to help measure outcomes and impacts. It is necessary to translate this information into data visualization to better communicate the results. Products to be designed may include interactive graphics, videos, animated GIFs, short-form videos, animated explainers, social media reels, motion graphics, mapping tools and interactive maps, data-driven briefs, etc. - Provide strategic guidance on best practices for reporting and visualization; - Present the ideas in a way that is easy to understand for the project team; - Develop products that combine and aggregate data from various sources; - Design and develop compelling data visualizations using a variety of techniques, including data storytelling. e. Illustration: Some of DCO’s products require illustrations, to be on a cover for a report, or in a publication, or for video needs. - Conceptualize illustration ideas (sketch or storyboard); - Present the ideas in a way that is easy to understand for the project team; - Execute illust
