BRA is currently requesting qualifications and proposals from qualified firms with specializedexpertise in freshwater mussel surveys and aquatic resource relocation in streams, rivers, andreservoirs in support of environmental permitting and compliance activities for BRA operationsand projects, as needed.The work will generally consist of surveys to determine the presence or absence of freshwater mussel species, provide population estimates if present, and in the event that relocation is required, assist BRA staff with permitting and approvals and perform the relocation. The Firm will also be responsible for creating all documentation necessary for reporting to relevant regulatory agencies. Freshwater mussel survey work and relocations require expertise and qualifications to perform underwater, scientific dives.Should projects require relocation of non-mussel aquatic species, the Firm will: (a) assist BRA staff with permitting and approvals;(b) either perform the relocation or assist BRA staff perform the relocation; and (c) create all documentation necessary for reporting to relevant regulatory agencies.
