The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office is seeking quotations from qualified interior design firms for comprehensive design services for the development and enhancement of an existing County owned property. The existing space is approximately 10,000 square feet and is going to be shared by 3 different units withing the Sheriff's Office. The firm will be expected to collaborate with agency staff and other stakeholders to ensure all designs meet regulatory standards and align with operational needs. Additional responsibilities include the development of furniture and equipment layouts, specification of furnishings, and recommendations that support durability, safety, and long-term usability in a high-volume public service environment. The design approach should incorporate safety best practices for both staff and clients, including visibility, circulation, and risk mitigation strategies. The selected firm will also serve as a resource for addressing building code compliance questions throughout the design and implementation process, ensuring that all proposed solutions are feasible and aligned with governing regulations.
