Tender summary
This is a request for proposals for in-car Mobile Audio Video (MAV) recording, for use in police vehicles. These systems are used to record video and audio of both common events--such as traffic stops, suspect interviews from inside the vehicle, and other routine interactions--as well as critical incidents--such as pursuits, uses of force, etc. These systems are critical tools for both reviewing officer performance (in the vein of "game tapes" for sports) and for preservation of objective evidence after incidents. Newer systems also allow for investigative tools with license plate recognition, AI search/transcription tools, and real-time viewing. Having a next-generation system is critical for modern policing and for protecting the residents of the City of Pasadena.
