Tender summary

Nelson is developing into a world class location for mountain biking. This opportunity is worth a potential $40m per year to our economy – but we have a lot of hard work ahead of us to achieve this goal. Nelson has the foundations of a comprehensive trail network and are looking for a highly skilled and motivated supplier to manage the maintenance of the mountain bike trails that fall under Nelson City Council’s responsibility. Our vision is for our mountain bike trails to be maintained to a world class standard and for our chosen supplier to work collaboratively with us to identify opportunities for continuous improvement of both the user experience and trail’s resilience. Nelson City Council (NCC) is looking to appoint an experienced, passionate, professional, well-resourced and creative supplier to maintain existing mountain bike trails, as detailed in the ‘Maintenance Services of Mountain Bike Trails’ contract, to a world class standard. The chosen supplier will use the Recreation Aotearoa ‘New Zealand Mountain Bike Trail Design Guidelines’ as the foundation of their work, but not be limited by it.
