Tender summary
The National Museum of Ireland is seeking a provider to support key elements of its community archival project, iCAN. The ultimate appointee will provide iCAN Website Network Administrator, Including Training and Technical Support Services and will be the designated liaison to the incumbent website supplier, communicating and following up on any issues with website performance across the iCAN Network (currently 59 websites). Under the direction of the iCAN Development Officer, they will provide training to community volunteers in the digitisation of cultural heritage material to industry standards, and in the iCAN WordPress CMS. They will facilitate the online iCAN Digital Champions sessions and lead the technical support service. The successful tenderer will assist the iCAN Team to support volunteer groups to develop and maintain their WordPress community archive websites. They will provide training to existing and new groups to develop and improve their knowledge of iCAN’s custom-built Content Management System, equipping them with the skills to effectively develop and manage their websites on an ongoing basis. They will primarily deliver online training and support services to groups of people of an older age (60 to 80+ years) with limited technical knowledge / ability, and when required will deliver in-person sessions at community venues across Ireland.
