Tender summary

San Mateo County Health (Health) is seeking proposals from well qualified proposers to provide workplace violence prevention training for Health employees. Community workers and health care clinicians work with patients, inmates, and individuals who may deal with various mental illnesses. They face the possibility of verbal and physical assault during the course of their work. Proper education will help staff understand how to handle workplace aggressions and how to de-escalate threatening situations. Implementing proper training can help reduce violent incidents and provide safe, appropriate methods of non-physical self defense. Health Administration, the division of Health who oversees this contract on behalf of all Health divisions, is seeking a contractor who will provide different areas of de-escalation training, such as the prevention and management of assaultive behavior, and trauma-informed response to conflict. Health is looking for both in-person and virtual training options, to be offered to Health staff as needed.
