Who We Are The United Nations World Food Programme (hereinafter referred to as “WFP”), with its Headquarters located at Via C.G. Viola, 68/70, 00148 Rome, Italy, is the leading humanitarian organization saving lives and changing lives. WFP delivers food assistance in emergencies and works with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience, assisting nearly 100 million people in approximately 83 countries each year. WFP employs around 17,000 staff, most of whom work in challenging environments directly serving the world’s vulnerable populations. The WFP Ukraine Country Office is seeking qualified and experienced service providers to deliver waste management services for Non-Food Items (NFIs) . Requirements for WFP Ukraine Interested suppliers must demonstrate the ability to provide end-to-end waste management services of non-food items (both hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams) in compliance with Ukrainian legislation, including the Law of Ukraine “On Waste Management” and applicable environmental standards, as well as with WFP requirements for disposal as reflected in the disposal matrix. Services shall include: Collection and transportation from Odesa, Dnipro, Kyiv, and other locations within Ukraine as needed. Dismantling and sorting, including the separation of hazardous components. Disposal and/or recycling using methods compliant with Ministry-approved procedures and WFP disposal matrix. Documentation and reporting, including supporting evidence. The services will include handling various categories of NFIs. Some items may be classified as hazardous and must be handled accordingly, including: Furniture (tables, chairs, cabinets, sofas) Packaging materials (paper, plastic) Electronic waste (laptops, printers, TVs, routers) Vehicle parts (tires, batteries, spare parts) Household equipment and appliances Fuel/petroleum/oil Minimum Requirements for Suppliers Legal Compliance Valid licenses for waste collection, transportation, recycling, and disposal Authorization to handle hazardous waste Compliance with Ukrainian environmental laws Experience Proven track record in waste management (at least 3 years) Experience handling similar NFIs and mixed waste streams Technical Capacity Availability of vehicles and qualified personnel Access to licensed disposal and/or recycling facilities Ability to manage multiple waste categories Operational Capacity Ability to cover all listed locations Defined response time and service availability Documentation Capability Ability to provide a full audit trail of disposal operations Availability of certificates and compliance documentation Purpose of This EOI The purpose of this Expression of Interest (EOI) is to identify capable companies to provide comprehensive waste management services for non-food items (NFIs) , including collection, transportation, dismantling, recycling, and final disposal. This EOI does not constitute a tender . Only suppliers meeting the minimum technical and administrative requirements may be shortlisted and invited to participate in future formal solicitation processes.
