Tender summary
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) hereby invites qualified firms, consortia, or entities to submit proposals for the development of Destination Management and Marketing Strategies under the Africa–Europe Partnerships for Culture: Promoting Culture and Heritage-Based Sustainable Tourism in Southern Africa (AEPC) project. The assignment will cover six participating countries and sites: Botswana – Tsodilo Hills World Heritage Site Eswatini – Matsanjeni North Inkhundla (Lubombo Biosphere Reserve) Lesotho – Morija Cultural Landscape Namibia – Twyfelfontein World Heritage Site South Africa – ǂKhomani Cultural Landscape World Heritage Site Zimbabwe – Matobo Hills World Heritage Site ‘ The objective of the assignment is to develop comprehensive and actionable Destination Management and Marketing Strategies to strengthen destination governance, enhance positioning and marketing, and promote sustainable, inclusive, and heritage-based tourism. The assignment will include destination diagnostics, stakeholder consultations, and the preparation of strategies with clear implementation roadmaps and investment priorities, aimed at improving visitor experience while supporting conservation and community benefits.
