Namsos kommune har planlagt å bygge et helsebygg i Namsos sentrum der man i byggetrinn 1 skal bygge inntil 216 institusjonsplasser. Bygget skal også inneholde sentralkjøkken, forebyggende og helsefremmende tjenester, dagtilbud og andre tjenester som kan være hensiktsmessige og samlokalisere sammen med institusjonstjenestene. Bygget og området skal bli et naturlig samlingssted i samfunnet. Bygget skal være framtidsrettet og kostnadseffektivt både i bygging og drift. Det skal på samme tomteareal planlegges for byggetrinn 2 og 3 med inntil 100 plasser pr byggetrinn.
