Tender summary

The Texas Historical Commission (THC) is seeking competitiveproposals to establish a Contract(s) for roof replacement in accordance withthe specifications contained in the RFP. The Project includes the removal anddisposal of the existing wood roof shingles and the replacement with new woodroof shingles on the Landmark Inn’s Monod Kitchen and on the Casa Navarro’sMercantile Building and kitchen. Associated sheet metal flashing will also bereplaced with new material. Additional information regarding project scope anddetails is further defined in the provided project specifications andconstruction documents. Refer to Exhibit XVII-Construction Documents forspecific project requirements. The vendor must have a minimum of five (5) yearsof experience in construction similar to the type of work required by this RFP(as judged by THC) to be eligible for the Contract award. Preference will begiven to respondents who have completed projects of a similar type, scope, andsize. The solicitation requires the company to submit its experience andqualifications, focusing on comparable projects. Pre-proposal conferences are required for this RFP and will beheld. Respondents must attend one of the two pre-proposal conferences scheduledfor June 17th and June 18th, from 10 am to 2 pm. We will meet at Casa NavarroState Historic Site for an hour and then travel to Landmark Inn State HistoricSite. The pre-proposal conference also includes a walk-through of both sites.Respondents must attend one of the two pre-proposal conferences scheduled forJune 17th or June 18th at the time listed above to begin the pre-proposalconference. Exhibit X, the Pre-Proposal Conference Form, must be included inthe Respondent’s Proposal. The Proposal will be rejected if a signedPre-Proposal Conference Form is not included. Proposals exceeding $25,000 must be accompanied by proposalsecurity in the form of an original bid bond, certified check, or cashier’scheck, payable to the order of the Texas Historical Commission, in an amountnot less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the Proposal (includingthe total of all alternate proposal items). Proposals will be rejected ifproposal security is not furnished in the specified form and by the time setfor receipt of proposals. This solicitation has been identified as requiring a VetHUBSubcontracting Plan (HSP). The Respondent must complete and submit the VetHUBPlan with their RFP response. A VetHUB Subcontracting Plan and a Bid Bond-Security Deposit mustaccompany your RFP proposal; otherwise, your proposal will be considerednon-responsive.
