The RFP is expected to be published on GETS in early September, with the aim of commencing a new contract from 1 April 2026. This opportunity may be of interest to third-party providers with proven experience and capability in managing and delivering fire evacuation trials. The successful provider will support NZ Police in meeting our obligations under the Fire and Emergency New Zealand Act 2017 and the Fire and Emergency New Zealand (Fire Safety, Evacuation Procedures, and Evacuation Schemes) Regulations 2018. Currently, NZ Police is responsible for conducting fire evacuation trials across 118 sites nationwide. The successful respondent will be expected to: • Coordinate and conduct trial evacuations at all designated sites • Provide timely audit feedback to our nominated contact • Update Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) upon completion of each trial • Deliver regular reporting to NZ Police on planned and actual contract performance Further information and opportunities to seek clarification will be available once the RFP is released.
