Summary

UNFPA South Africa is committed to advancing digital self-care approaches for sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) to improve access, autonomy, and continuity of care—particularly among adolescents and young people (AYP). The National Department of Health in South Africa recently welcomed the arrival of the first batch of HIV Prevention Medicin- Lenacapavir, which consists of 37 920 doses. This medicine will boost the country’s efforts to reduce new HIV infections. UNFPA South Africa aims to integrate information on the HIV prevention medicine Lenacapavir (LEN) into an existing SRHR digital self-care application to increase awareness and uptake among adolescents and young people and support AI leveraged solutions that: • Enable individuals to independently access SRHR information, products, and services • Strengthen linkages between digital platforms and physical service delivery points • Ensure safe, rights-based, and youth-friendly digital health ecosystems -Strengthen linkages between digital platforms and physical service delivery points • Ensure safe, rights-based, and youth-friendly digital health ecosystems
