Tender summary
The Department wishes to engage a suitably qualified supplier to deepen and widen the channel seabed on the approach and adjacent to the Kingston Pier at Norfolk Island, install a navigation aid, and to undertake repairs and strengthening to the sheet pile wall and fendering of the Kingston Pier. The Project is aligned to the strategic planning context at Norfolk Island, specifically the Norfolk Island Tourism Strategic Plan 2013-2023 and the Norfolk Island Economic Development Strategy 2015 and has received approval under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. The Project will involve removing in-situ material from the seabed, dewatering of spoil, transport and placement of spoil at a land-based disposal site, installation of a channel navigation aid, stabilisation of the existing steel sheet pile wall and repairs to the fendering system.
