Ce bâtiment a pour objectif la conception et la construction du département d’Urgence et de Post-Urgence Psychiatrique (UPUP) du pôle Psychiatrie, d'un secteur d’accueil post-urgences, associant une unité d’hospitalisation post urgences (patients Médicaux et Gériatriques) et une unité d’hospitalisation de courte durée Adultes (UHCDA), et tertiaire médical associé, des bureaux médicaux (tertiaire médical) du pôle mère enfant, d'une passerelle de liaison permettant de relier l'hôpital Lapeyronie - urgences au futur bâtiment, pour le transport des patients mais aussi des professionnels de santé, d'une passerelle d’accès depuis les stationnements vers le futur institut de la fertilité, à prévoir en clos couvert. Enfin, ce bâtiment accueillera le clos-couvert pour abriter le futur Institut de la Fertilité.
