The current building is utilized by the town of Darien as an outpost paramedic office for the town wide Emergency Medical Services / EMS and is not considered a public use building. The EMS building at 701 Post Road was constructed in 1840 as a 1-1/2 story, wood framed, gabled roof, vernacular style building. The building was added onto twice with the first additions to the north and south, and later on the west. All three additions are simple shed roofs that slope back up to the original building. The original building and its’ additions have stone foundations.
