University of Limerick request the supply of a set of anatomy models to include the following: Spinal Cord (Qty x 2), Cervical Vertebra (Qty x 2), 6-Part Brain Model (Qty x 2), Ventricular Cavity (Qty x 2), Upper and Forearm Muscles (Qty x 1), Skeleton of Leg with Pelvis (Qt x 2), Muscles of the Arm with Shoulder (Qty x 1), Muscles of the leg with Pelvis Base (Qty x 1), Muscles of the Hand (Qty x 2), 10. Muscles of the Foot (Qty x2), 11. Larynx (Qty x1), 12. Cavities of the lower face (Qty x2), 13. Median sections of the Lower Face (Qty x2), 14. Half cross-section of the Head (Qty x2), 15. Lungs with Heart(Qty x2), 16.Bronchial Tree(Qty x1), 17. Heart (Qty x2), 18. Heart with conducting system (Qty x2), 19.Torso with Head(Qty x2) , 20. Female Pelvis (Qty x2), 21. Median section of the Male Pelvis (Qty x2), 22. Human Skeleton (Male) (Qty x2), 23. Human Skeleton (Female) (Qty x2). The anatomy models supplied must, as a minimum, adhere to the specification outlined for each of the 23 models requested and should include individual stands for display and storage purposes where applicable. The models must be manufactured from quality, durable materials with high accuracy and modelling to portray the individual anatomical components of the human body. Removable parts should fit the model correctly and have high quality pins, holes and hinges to ensure an accurate and repeatable fit each time the model is disassembled and assembled. The models must suit the purpose of anatomical study and education for undergraduate and post graduate students of the disciplines of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Human Nutrition and Dietetics. There has been an increase in student admission to the School of Allied Health programmes over the past year, as well as a recent addition of two new programmes, BSc Occupational Therapy and BSc Speech and Language Therapy. The anatomy models are required as a set to be purchased together as it will enable the school to proffer anatomy resources in a second, larger lab space for Anatomy teaching within the Health Sciences building. This will give the school access to two spaces instead of the current one lab space to teach anatomy modules and will increase the number of anatomy models to facilitate learning and research among the student cohorts.
