<p>The Indian Health Service is pleased to announce the 4th Annual Buy Indian Industry Day, co-hosted by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Department of the Interior (DOI),&nbsp;and APEX Accelerators. This event is taking place on April 27&ndash;28, 2026, at the OKANA Conference Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.</p> <p>&ldquo;Buy Indian Industry Day reflects our commitment to strengthening partnerships with Indian-owned businesses and expanding economic opportunity across Indian Country,&rdquo; said IHS Chief of Staff Clayton Fulton. &ldquo;By increasing access to federal contracting opportunities, we support&nbsp;tribal sovereignty, promote economic self-determination, and help build stronger, healthier communities.&rdquo;&nbsp;</p> <p>The Buy Indian Act of 1910 authorizes IHS and the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) to give preference to Indian-owned and controlled businesses when&nbsp;procuring&nbsp;goods and services, supporting the growth of&nbsp;tribal economies.&nbsp;Buy Indian Industry Day will provide Indian-owned businesses with:&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Information on upcoming contracting opportunities&nbsp;</li> <li>Guidance on the Buy Indian Act procurement process&nbsp;</li> <li>Networking opportunities with IHS and BIA leadership and contracting officials&nbsp;</li> <li>Resources to help businesses successfully compete for federal contracts&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>In&nbsp;fiscal&nbsp;year 2025,&nbsp;the&nbsp;IHS awarded over $515 million&mdash;28.5&nbsp;percent&nbsp;of eligible contract dollars&mdash;to Indian-owned economic enterprises.
