<p>Notice of Intent for Sole Source</p> <p><br /> The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Research Triangle Park (RTP) Durham, North Carolina, intends to award on a sole source basis Thermo Electron North America, LLC (Unity Labs) in accordance with RFO 6.103-1(b) to purchase a one-year repair and preventive<br /> maintenance service agreement for the laboratory's Thermo Q-Exactive HF LCMSMS. This procurement is recommended to be processed without full and open competition.</p> <p>EPA’s Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention Office of Mission Critical Operations, Biological and Economic Analysis Division’s Laboratory needs a preventive equipment maintenance agreement (EMA), and service plan, for the Thermo Q-Exactive HF LCMSMS - a<br /> tandem mass spectrometer that combines a quadrupole mass analyzer for precursor selection with a high-resolution/high mass accuracy Orbitrap mass analyzer. This spectrometer is recognized as playing a critical role in systems biology and is becoming the focus of the<br /> development of diagnostic tests, novel drug therapies, personalized medicine, and understanding of infectious diseases, cancer, and metabolic disorders .</p> <p>The Thermo Electron North America, LLC (Unity Labs) EMA for the Thermo Q-Exactive HF LCMSMS shall include:</p> <ul> <li>One annual preventative maintenance visit.</li> <li>Unlimited phone, email, and remote support sessions.</li> <li>All parts, site labor, zone charges and per diem charges.</li> <li>Software bug fixes for Thermo Q-Exactive HF LCMSMS user interface software and applications software.</li> <li>The initial service response time is not to exceed (4) business hours.</li> <li>The onsite service response time will not exceed (2) business days after all remote diagnostic sessions have been exhausted and both parties agree a service visit is required.</li> <li>All parts and services retain a (90) day warranty from the date of installation.</li> </ul> <p>This Notice of Intent is not a request for proposals.
